WELCOME TO LIGHTHOUSE

Thank you for your interest in Lighthouse Community School. We offer a personalized education program for homeschooling students in Kindergarten to 5th grade with two days of on-campus instruction per week.  We believe that the Bible is the final authoritative guide for faith and conduct, and we desire to incorporate the truths presented in the word of God into all aspects of our program.  We are located at Grace Community Church 1.5 miles north of SR 54 near the Wesley Chapel District Park.

What can I expect as part of Lighthouse?

It is our desire to unite the best parts of homeschooling along with the benefits of classroom learning in a biblically based setting.  To achieve this goal we ask both parents and teachers to partner together as allies. In our program parents take the primary responsibility to educate their children with direction, accountability, and support from quality Christian teachers. Students are given instruction on campus 2 days per week, and parents accept the responsibility for homeschooling 2 days per week using the lesson plans sent home by the classroom teacher.  In our hybrid learning program all students in a grade level use the same curriculum and follow structured lesson plans rather than working at their own pace. Parents have flexibility to enhance the curriculum to meet their child’s interests and learning style, and they can also choose to supplement their child’s education at home with enrichment activities, electives, and extra curricular activities as well.  Homeschool schedules will be determined by each family, but they should average around 3 hours of classwork each day per student. Teachers provide accountability to make sure that students are completing all work and assessments to monitor progress.
